Reflection
This is an assignment where we have a site visit Kuala Lumpur, the federal capital and the most populous city in Malaysia. We can only travel to the city via public transport. This site visit is supposed to assist us on the completion of our assignment about public spaces. We were given the freedom to choose our site and I choose KLCC Park that is located right in front of the iconic Petronas Twin Tower. As the scope of the task given is very wide, I decided to create a specific question for my assignment. I cannot solve a problem without identifying a specific problem. As a result, I analysed and judged the public spaces along the journey based on my opinion and research. Firstly, I tried to understand the success criteria of a public space and judged the public spaces based on the requirements. The most important lesson I had through this assignment is the skill to analyse and observe the elements that are not visible. I have to first identify the problem the design tried to solve and the intangible elements affecting the spaces. Then, analyse the space and attempt to improve the spaces.
