    English Debate

    Project Scope

    Group Member:
    First Speaker - Daniesh Ashik
Second Speaker - Wilson Liew Yong Sheng
Third Speaker - Peng Yep Siang (Me)
Fourth Speaker - Preston Liew Ru Ping

    Topic:
"Despite all the adulation given to him by liberals, Chin Peng is more a terrorist than a hero of Malaysian
    independence."

My group and I were to speak against this statement.

    Reflection

Individually, I have to research on the subject, Chin Peng and his history associated with Malaysia history. Then, I structured my points into a complete speech in support of my teammates. Originally, I was assigned as the fourth speaker to conclude my teammates' statements. Right before the debate, some complication occur and I was assigned as the third speaker and, hence I was caught off guard. I was forced to improvise. I listen to the opposing team's point and try to find their loopholes, then I counter their speech using the facts from the history.

I learnt that teamwork is really important through this lesson. If we have coordinate ourselves more carefully, no complication would occur and my speech would not be disrupted. It was truly a shame that I could give my best due to errors from my teammates. However, no one is to be blame here because we did not organize ourselves prior to the debate. I was too concerned of myself that I have neglected my teammates' complication.
