Meet my new friend, Fiaree the Raffia String! Fiaree is a product of my Creative Thinking Skill assignment --Idea Journal One with the title, My Object. I was given an object, raffia string to investigate and while trying to understand raffia string, I made several mind maps. Once, due to lack of sleep and natural hormonal reaction, I imagined raffia string as a human and related its characteristic to human. Generally, raffia string is thin, flexible and smooth yet strong. I discovered that these unique characters possessed by raffia string exist in some women as well, in a certain perspective. This is how Fiaree was born.

Reflection

Raffia string is something I am quite familiar with as it is often used in scouts' work (I was a scout), so I thought. Further research experiment about raffia string proved my knowledge to be insignificant. My knowledge of raffia string is only a small part of the whole.

I looked into the details and information about raffia string and there are plenty of irrelevant and incorrect information. This is where critical thinking comes into play. I learned to ask the right question. I learned to evaluate, filter and summarize information. Planning and organizing thoughts are an essential skill too. After gathering all the required information, I connected ideas and thoughts into one big, integrated idea.These integration and connection stimulate my right brain -- creative thinking. Although I have understand the basis of connecting ideas, there is still a universe for me improve and explore. I am barely touching the tip of the iceberg. Even then, I have to think practically and judge whether that idea can be applied in reality.

In the beginning, I underestimate this assignment and took it lightly. Fortunately, I was corrected not too late. In this case, I want to express my gratitude to my fellow friends. Their spirit and attitude influenced me deeply. A simple thing can be very different in different eyes. Throughout this assignment,  the amount of brain capacity used is very high and it hit me hard. Nevertheless, the process is rather enjoyable and the joy of completing this assignment is even more addictive
