After gathering the basic information on our family, we selected the few interesting points to elaborate and select a common incident that occur in both our family as the theme for our video. Then, we planned out the layout of our board and organize the data with great care and critical judgement before proceed to next phase where we started making it. I did all the drawing and most of the data organizing.

Infographic Board
Colours and statistic are important elements in our board.
Our board shows a combined family tree and timeline where the key events in our family formation is recorded. At the top, there are Chinese characters of the surnames that have appeared in our family to show the branches of family involved in our main family. The left half of the board is my family timeline, the right half of the board is Wei Cheng's family timeline At the bottom, the transformation of our family basic condition in term of family, education and economy is presented in a statistic format. At the middle is two boxes, each explaining a little weird facts in our family.
On the back of the board, there is a brief explanation of "Polygamy" which is the commonality between my partner's and my family. This page of our board is also featured in our video. There is a simplified version of both our maternal family tree because polygamy occurs in both our maternal family.
Video
Our video focus on the polygamy incident that happen in both our family. The opening is a reenactment of the scenario that happens in our family which featured my friends, Zoe Kan and Preston Liew. The storyboard was written by me and directed by me. Then, we quickly brief through our polygamy family tree and the similarities among them. Lastly, the video explains a small part of the incidents that is related to our polygamy family.
My booklet describes the Teochew traditional coming-of-age ceremony that is practised within my family. The design of the cover and the title is closely related to my topic. The cover illustrates a gate leading to a garden with a couple along the path reflecting the legend of the ceremony. Using a blurred effect gives the booklet a sense of mystery about a tradition that is almost forgotten by the time. The ceremony is explained using gaphics and a small pop up art.

Reflection
In this project, there is a digital presentation - a video. Video is always more difficult for me, and my partner too. Interviewing my family was a first for me as well. I got a better understanding of my family's root and life. Filming and editing video isn't a first for me so I at least manage to finish it right in time. However, parts of the video did not turn too well. There is still room for improvement.
Working with only one partner, each party have to communicate more to let the other understand yourself and foster teamwork. This process needs a lot of patience. Both my partner and I have done fairly well in this aspect. Working in a small team is a first for us but we maintain a objective point of view. We discussed about every little details in our work such as colours and etc so that none of us is left confused of what the other is attempting.
Overall, critical thinking plays a huge part because the topic is very vague. In order to stand out from other, I broke a few rules in the brief. However, in the end, the content still meet the brief requirement. There were also a lot of unnecessary information that we have to filter out and enhance the selected information.
