    DV Project 1B

    Project Scope

This project requires us to explore and record the tangible elements in our site before presenting our understanding of our site in visual format - orthographic drawings and diagrams.

All drawing s are done on A3 artblock paper:

    Introduction (Location plan + perspective)
    Site Plan
    Elevation (Side + front)
    Section
Details (A physical element on site + a self chosen figurine)
    Bubble Diagram
    Sketch Axonometric

Our site: Black A Entrance, Taylor's University Lakeside Campus
This is an individual work but the site is shared by a group of people. The measuring of site is done in group and shared. Further analysis like the bubble diagram is done individually.

    Reflection

This project can be considered as the introduction to the next project which involve site analysis. These are a few of drawing that will need to be done in site analysis.

Most of my does not exactly convey the technical information like other orthographic drawing do. The drawings are all rendered to make it interesting and attractive. I learnt various way of architectural rendering. In the end, I chose to use pencil and watercolour to render the drawing because I am better at using pencil. The rendering unexpectedly used too much time.

I learnt how to draw a plan, an elevation and a section. I also learnt what kind of pen to use to draw different kind of lines I learnt how to use a scale ruler and what scale to use for different drawings. There are many things that I have learnt and did for the first time but these are things that I will eventually have to learn and it is not very difficult. What is more difficult is the analysis of intangible element such as the bubble diagram because it is more objective. It requires research and close observation of the site. I still have to gain more experience on this aspect but I at least have a taste of it.
