Group Members: Teo Chong Yih, Rubayet, Stefan Loke, Ronn Chua
As a group, we discussed on the assignment of the characters and selected the plot we wanted in our play. Then, I wrote the script and organized all the separate plots into a story. The coordination of the play was mainly conduct by me because I wrote the script while visualizing the play. My group mates did put in a lot of suggestions. We practised and synchronised our acting before we finally memorize the script and finalize our stage play.
We also made several props and I was in charge of painting the props. I also prepared the media material, the witches' voice recording by recording my friend, Jo Yee's voice and edit in a audio editing software.

Individual Component
After assigning our individual character, I did a study on my character - Lady Macbeth. Grouch a.k.a. Lady Macbeth is the wife of Macbeth. By understanding the origin and behavior of lady Macbeth, I can do an in-depth analysis on my character and thus, help me to better reenact the scene lady Macbeth featured. After the understanding come the representation of the character.

To reenact the culture of my character, I sew my own dress for the character after researching their fashion style. I spent about 3 days to sew the dress alone. I also made several accessories such as dagger and circlet.

Reflection
In the process of completing this project, I have to try many different ways to gather information on the movie given to my group because it is a really old movie and a fictional story. I also research various methods to make all the props and my costume. I have to figure out the correct culture depicted in the story through history and infuse it into our play.
The hardest challenge I faced in this project is the making of my costume. Due to its feature, it is harder to modify it from common clothing unless I deliberately buy it. There is also a slight miscalculation on the planning and the performance day is nearing so finally, I sewed my own dress from plain clothes. Although it looks simple, It me a lot of effort and time because it is my first time and I don't have the assistance of a sewing machine. Despite many discouragement, I trusted my own ability and prove my worth.
The coordination and planning of the performance was mainly lead by me with the suggestions of my group mates. I have to take account of all my group mates' capabilities while assigning their lines and action. After writing the script, I explain my visualization of our play then we modify with everyone's suggestions. The communication within the group is good. |
