My finalized model is based on the concept of falling sky. In the movie, Chicken Little was afraid of the falling sky. The falling sky is represented by the white modular triangles. The triangles are pointing downwards, indicating a falling motion.

Reflection

This is my second model that I have done but it was different this time. At this stage, it is only conceptual design which is the most important stage in my opinion. Coming up with an idea is a a very long and difficult process. Firstly, I have to grasp the correct concept from the movie. Most of time, I complicated the concept with too much symbolism and stray away from the main concept. I learnt concentrate on the most important thing and represent its characteristic. The concept should be simple to understand to avoid misunderstanding and confusion

Next, I have to develop the design from the derived concept. The design should not be too literal. This is where I have to constantly judge my own design from a third person view. I also ask for my peer's evaluation. The design should be design with justification and reasons. It should also be design with its environment in mind. The design will ultimately be placed in a location and interact with its surrounding. So it should be able to withstand the surrounding challenges and not disrupt the flow of the surrounding elements.

I also learnt to develop my ideas by working. Making models and drawing keep me constantly thinking of the concept and develop my idea. Sometimes I have to leave the work entirely to freshen my mind and continue my work again later.
